In the morning of today (1st), a van was turned over near Namsejong Intersection on Dangjin Daejeon Expressway, Geumnam-myeon, Sejong City, killing 7 people and injuring 5 people.

Seven out of twelve died, five were injured and taken to hospital.
Two of the injured people could be seriously injured, resulting in more deaths.
The accident occurred at the exit of Namsejong Nadeulmok of Dangjin Daejeon Expressway around 8:20 am.

The van was overturned on the turnway exiting the highway.
The driver was Korean and most of the passengers were Chinese compatriots.
Six of the seven deaths were investigated as Chinese nationals.
It is reported that while working at the construction site in Namwon, Jeollabuk-do, the work was canceled due to heavy rain on the site.
The exact cause of the accident was not confirmed, but the road was wet right after it rained.
The police estimate that it would have slipped while advancing beyond the 40 km/h limit in the ramp section.
