The strike by cargo unions is expected to cause a logistics crisis across the nation’s industry starting this week.

The government and the cargo union are expected to hold negotiations today in two weeks, but difficulties are expected due to the large difference in opinion between the two sides.

Busan New Port is quiet with a noticeable decrease in the number of trucks entering and leaving.

The Port of Busan, including the Busan New Port, is the hub of port logistics and accounts for approximately 70% of all container imports and exports to Korea.

On the 4th day of the strike, the amount of containers entering and leaving the port of Busan was reduced to one-fifth of the usual amount.

The volume of cargo transported in the country’s 12 major ports is less than this.

As the shipment rate of concrete and steel materials is less than 10% than usual, the work stoppage in ready-mix concrete companies and construction sites is becoming visible.

There are also disruptions in the individual delivery of finished automakers, and the oil refining industry is also concerned that it will be difficult to deliver supplies to frontline service stations if the strike continues.

Cargo Solidarity calls for the abolition of the “Safe Transportation System” extinguishing system and for the number of applicable items to be increased to five.

It is to guarantee the minimum transport rate that guarantees the survival rights of truckers.
