The court sentenced Kim Young-man, head of Gyeongsangbuk-do, to 7 years in prison.

Gunsu Kim has been tried on charges of receiving 200 million won from a construction contractor in exchange for requesting a voluntary contract for the construction of the Gunwi Army’s integrated water purification plant.
In addition, he ordered a false confession to public officials who delivered money during investigations and trials for construction corruption.
The judge said, “The guilt is very heavy and the possibility of accusation is high, but the corresponding punishment is inevitable because it does not reflect on it.”
Jeon Chan-geol, who was charged with violating the election law, was sentenced to a fine of 800,000 won in Uljin County, North Gyeongsang Province.
In early April, just before the 21st general election, Gyeongbuk provincial lawmakers and Uljin military lawmakers gathered in support of the candidate of the same party and handed over to the trial.
Eom Tae-hang, the capital of Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongbuk, is also under investigation by the prosecution.
Gunsu Eom is suspected of intervening in interests related to government-supplied construction last year.
Separately, some local governments are being smeared with illegal activities by group heads, such as being summoned and investigated on suspicion of negligence in business related to solar power plants by their families.
