Prosecutors investigating allegations of solicitation by Korea Complex Logistics, a subsidiary of CJ, also searched and seized the home of the previous government’s Blue House personnel secretary.

The prosecution believed former chief of staff Noh Young-min was involved in the case and had previously imposed a travel ban, but the investigation appears to be expanding.

The prosecution investigation team walks out of the Gyeonggi-do Central Cooperation Headquarters Office in Yeouido, Seoul.

The search and seizure of related materials was carried out to confirm that Mr. A, the head of headquarters here, was employed as a full-time consultant by Korea Complex Logistics, a subsidiary of CJ in the past.

“(Has the seizure and search ended now?) ….”

Mr. A, a former assistant to a senior member of the Democratic Party of Korea, was the successor to Lee Jeong-geun, a former deputy general secretary of the Democratic Party, who had previously been involved in a job offer at the same company.

Prosecutors suspect that Mr. A, like former Vice President Lee, is also a job candidate who was hired by Korea Complex Logistics upon request.

Along with Mr. A’s office, the home of government Blue House Personnel Secretary Moon Jae-in, who is alleged to have interfered in their hiring process, was also included in the search target.

Prosecutors are also looking into whether former chief of staff Noh Young-min was involved as a senior secretary.

Last month, when the office of Korea Complex Logistics, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation and the home of another former personnel secretary were seized and searched, the warrant listed former chief Roh as a suspect. of obstruction in business.

He was also barred from leaving the country on suspicion that Roh had received a request from former Vice President Lee and lobbied through the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation to hire an unprofessional person to advise a private company.

Former Vice President Lee, who failed in the 21st general election two years ago, sent a text message to ex-chief Roh saying, “The chief’s only chance,” and received a reply that he could serve as an adviser.

Mr. Roh denies the allegation, but as the prosecution conducts a further search and seizure, a fact-finding investigation appears inevitable.

A prosecution official said the criterion for judging illegality is whether the company’s right to recruit staff has been respected according to established procedures.
