The High-ranking Officials Crime Investigation Department began to select prosecutors in earnest, starting with the filing of the application.
The key is how many incumbent prosecutors will apply, but there is a clear temperature difference both inside and outside the prosecution over the prospect of applying.

Jin-wook Kim, the first chief of the criminal investigations for high-ranking officials, was a former senior researcher at the Constitutional Court with experience as a judge.
Since the time of appointment, the lack of investigation experience has been cited as the biggest weakness.

A former judge has also been appointed as the deputy chief of the Airborne Department.

Excluding the Chief and Deputy Director, only 23 seats for the prosecutor’s office were left.
As if conscious of his criticisms about his experience in the investigation, Chief Kim pledged to select prosecutors from the former prosecutors’ office at the maximum amount stipulated by law.
As scheduled, application submissions began.
The key is how many prosecutors will apply, but the prospect is not very good.
Except for some advantages of being able to continue working in the metropolitan area, the response is that there is no reason to resign and go to the airlift.
The organization is small, there is no promotion system, and the retirement age is not guaranteed like public servants, and there is no financial compensation.
In particular, Director Kim said that he would like the prosecutor’s rank as a manager, but many point out that it is not possible in reality.
On the other hand, among attorneys, it is expected that applicants will be crowded because they can experience’special investigation’ and build a career.
Applications are accepted until the 4th.
The Ministry of Public Service also sent an official letter to the National Assembly to recommend four personnel members, two from two parties, to form a personnel committee, which is the’essential gateway’ for the appointment of prosecutors.
Candidates for prosecutors who have passed the interview are nominated by the president after being recommended by a personnel committee composed of seven members, including the chief and deputy chiefs.
The Airborne Department needs more expertise as it conducts investigations against high-ranking officials.
It is noteworthy whether this selection of prosecutors will serve as a foothold to compensate for the weaknesses of the former judges and deputy chiefs’ lack of investigation experience.
