A septic tank exploded in an apartment complex in Incheon.
No one was injured, but the surrounding asphalt road fell causing severe inconvenience to residents.

The street in front of the apartment in Jaksan-dong, Incheon.
Streets that have been shattered as if hit by bullets resemble a battlefield.
The paved road has landed beyond the control line and the debris from the rough road is scattered all around.
All the flower pots that had been erected along the road were overturned and a broken manhole was placed a few meters from the site of the explosion.
The incident occurred around 2:40 pm.
When the septic tank under the road exploded, the quiet town quickly became a disaster.
The stench vibrated with a “pop” explosion and the gas gushed like a fountain.

It was a dizzying situation where the manhole was blown away by such a strong shock that it could have caused casualties.
[아파트 주민 : 재활용품을 버리러 가다가 폭발음을 들었는데, 폭발음을 듣고 (보니깐) 건물 무너질 때처럼 잔해가 많이 흩날리더라고요. 초등학교 아이들이 학원 가고, 하원 시간이란 말이에요.]
Fortunately, the risk of further explosions is not significant.
Police and firefighters, however, checked the crash site as it could lead to a secondary accident if fire or electricity came into contact with it.
Because septic tanks always generate toxic gases, explosions often occur, so regular ventilation and cleaning is essential.

Experts also pointed out that care should be taken near the gas, as even a small cigarette or electric spark can cause a large fire.
