During the Park Geun-hye administration, former Blue House Civilian Jeong Jeong-woo, who was accused of condoning’Gukjeong Nongdan’ and conducting illegal inspections through the National Intelligence Service, was sentenced to one year in prison at an appeal trial.
Compared to the four years in prison at the first trial, the sentence was significantly reduced, and the court judged all charges related to the Gukjeong Nongdan incident as innocent.

In February 2018, former chief executive Woo was accused of illegally inspecting former special inspector Lee Seok-soo, who tried to inspect himself by mobilizing the National Intelligence Service for two years and six months in prison for not properly inspecting the government of the Park Geun-hye administration. I was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison.
The Court of Appeals conducted a merger of the two trials, and the judgments were largely mixed with the first trial, which sentenced them to four years in prison.
First, the court overturned all four charges recognized as guilty in the first trial, including aiding the Gukjeong Nongdan.
In particular, former chief Woo did not know the mischief of Choi Seo-won and others at the time of Gukjeong Nongdan, and he thought that he was not obligated to proactively inspect Min Jung unless directed by the president.
Regarding the illegal inspections, which were initially convicted of three charges, only charges against former special inspector Lee Seok-soo and former Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Organizing Committee Chairman Kim Jin-seon were judged guilty.
In the end, the Seoul High Court, which convicted only two of the 16 prosecutions, drastically reduced the sentence of former Chief Woo, and sentenced him to one year in prison.
Although he was sentenced to jail, former chief Woo was not arrested again after serving more than a year after being arrested in December 2017.

Former chief Woo said he could not admit to the guilty illegal inspection charges and said he would appeal.
As most of the charges have been turned innocent, there is a high possibility that the prosecution will appeal, so the court battles of both sides are expected to continue in the Supreme Court.
