The number of confirmed cases, which fell to three digits during the holiday season, appears to have increased again as the number of tests increased.
When looking at the route of infection, 1,025 people occurred in Korea and 25 people came from abroad.
There are still many infected people in the metropolitan area.
There were 383 in Seoul, 274 in Gyeonggi, and 48 in Incheon, with only 705 new patients in the metropolitan area.
In the non-capital area, patients came from 16 provinces nationwide excluding Jeonnam, including 49 in Daegu, 45 in Chungbuk, 38 in Busan, 36 in Gyeongnam, and 32 in Jeonbuk.
