He said at a US Congressional approval hearing on the 19th local time that the United States should review its existing approaches and policies toward North Korea.

Breaking away from the Trump administration’s denuclearization negotiations that relied on a’top-down’ method, the Biden administration is interpreted to have expressed a willingness to seek a new approach to North Korea.
Nominee Blincoln said, however, that it begins with a close consultation with our allies and partners, especially with South Korea and Japan, and reviewing all solicitations.
Nominee Blincoln said he believes that he should do what he can to alleviate the suffering of the country’s people on the issue of humanitarian aid to North Korea.
They showed an attitude of being open to humanitarian aid to North Korea.
The defense minister’s nominee said that once ratified, it will focus on modernizing the Indo-Pacific regional alliance and, as part of that effort, will promote early settlement of defense costs negotiations with South Korea.
As stated in the written response data submitted to the Senate Military Committee in line with the approval hearing, there was no specific comment on the timing of settlement, but it implied the possibility that the defense cost negotiations would be settled in the near future.
After the expiration of the agreement at the end of 2019, it is interpreted that the defense cost negotiations, which have not progressed between Korea’s proposal for a 13% increase and the US demand for a 50% increase, will be settled early by compromising the extent of the increase in the alliance modernization. .
