A series of suicide bombings in Baghdad, Iraq’s capital, resulted in more than 140 casualties.
The Associated Press said a series of suicide bombings took place on the 21st of the local time in the Bob Al-Sharki area in central Baghdad.
Iraqi health minister Hassan Mohamed al-Tamimi said at least 32 people were killed and 110 others were injured in the attack.
So far, no group has emerged behind the terrorist attacks, but Iraqi military authorities say it was the work of the Sunni extremist terrorist group “Islamic State” IS.
The Iraqi Joint Operations Command said, “After a terrorist wearing a suicide bomber vested loudly in the middle of a crowded market, it detonated the first explosive, and soon the second exploded.”
“This attack is a terrorist attack by the IS remnant,” he added, adding that “IS is trying to prove its presence after being hit hard in military operations.
