That’s right.

It was on the evening of the 25th that the Japanese government officially confirmed domestically infected persons caused by the mutant virus from the UK.

In just one day, we decided to stop new entry to the world.

This action will continue from tomorrow until the end of January.

Along with the suspension of issuance of new visas for foreigners, the two-week quarantine exemption that was applied when Japanese nationals returning from abroad and foreigners living in Japan return from abroad will also be suspended.

However, the quarantine exemption measures for short-term entry for business purposes for 11 countries including Korea and China remain the same.

For long-term residents for business purposes, the current measures will continue to enter the country after quarantine for two weeks.

The Japanese government explained that it was decided as a precautionary measure as the corona 19 mutant virus has been discovered in various countries regarding this tightening of entry regulations.

In Japan, it has been newly confirmed that a man in his 30s and a woman in his 20s who returned from England were infected with the mutant virus.

The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said on the 16th that the man, who returned from England, was not subject to quarantine because he was an aircraft pilot, and that he came in without being inspected at the airport.

Prior to that, all five people who had been confirmed to be infected in Japan were found to be infected with the mutant virus as a result of a test at the airport upon arrival.

Experts have ordered thorough quarantine measures, saying there is a possibility that the number of infections in Japan will increase in the future.

In Japan, there are many places that start early from Christmas, usually close on the 28th and enter the New Year holidays.

As hospitals also have a place to rest, there is a growing concern about the medical vacuum amid a rapid increase in infection.

Accordingly, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported that 15 regions, including Tokyo and Osaka, decided to provide independent subsidies for hospitals that continue to be treated during the year-end and New Year holidays, independent of the government.

In the case of Tokyo, the newspaper reported that as of the 24th, about 40% of the total 3,200 medical and examination institutions, or 1,300, decided to open during the year-end and New Year holidays.
