Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu evaluated that the country’s fastest-in-progress corona 19 vaccination in the world suppressed the outbreak of confirmed elderly patients and reduced the number of severely ill patients.
Prime Minister Netanyahu said at a ministerial meeting broadcasted on TV on the 4th local time, “The number of patients over 60 who were hospitalized after corona 19 infection in the past 16 days decreased by 26%, and the number of confirmed patients in the same age group decreased by 45%.”
Then, 95% of the 4,975 Corona 19 deaths in Israel are elderly people in their 60s or older, encouraging them to “go get it because the vaccine is effective.”
Israel has secured a large volume of vaccine maker Pfizer on condition of providing real-time vaccination data, and has started vaccinations for medical staff and the elderly from December 19 last year.
So far, the number of people who have completed the first vaccination has exceeded 3.3 million, more than 35% of the total population of 9.3 million, and the number of second vaccinations has exceeded 1.9 million.
Israel is targeting 50% of the population by next month.
According to data from the Israeli Ministry of Health, the vaccination rate for seniors aged 60 and over is 84%.
In recent years, as the number of voluntary vaccinations has dropped dramatically, the Israeli government has expanded the number of vaccinations to all ages 16 and older.
