It turns out that Chinese naval power has more than tripled over the past 20 years, overtaking the United States.
The US Naval Intelligence Agency analyzed that the number of warships held by the People’s Liberation Army in China increased from 255 in 2015 to 360 at the end of last year, CNN reported.
This is 63 more than the US Navy currently has 297 battleships.
In addition, four years later, the number of Chinese warships will increase to 400, the U.S. Naval Intelligence Service predicted.
According to a report jointly compiled by the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Command in December last year, Chinese naval power has more than tripled in size over the past 20 years.
According to the Institute for Strategic International Affairs, China’s shipbuilding capacity accounted for 40% of the world’s total in 2018.
China’s strong building capacity is considered to naturally lead to an increase in naval power.
