When British Prime Minister Boris Johnson pointed to the culture of eating pangolins as the origin of Corona 19, the Chinese government was infuriated by saying that it was a’unfounded speculation’.
According to British Sky News, Prime Minister Johnson said at the environmental summit held on the 11th that “Corona 19 originated from bats or pangolins,” and that “it originated from people’s mad belief that eating pangolin scales makes them stronger.”
Although Prime Minister Johnson did not point to China directly, China is the largest demand for pangolins.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lizhen criticized that “unfounded speculation or exaggerated debate interferes with international cooperation to uncover the origins of Corona 19.”
