Korean researchers have succeeded in raising the efficiency of next-generation solar cells to the world’s highest level.
The Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology revealed that it has succeeded in increasing energy efficiency by more than 25% by reducing material defects and restructuring the structure of perovskite cells, the next generation solar cell.
This will improve efficiency to a level similar to that of existing silicon solar cells, which will accelerate the commercialization of next-generation solar cells.
Next-generation solar cells cost only 1/5 of the production cost of conventional cells, and can be freely transformed in color and shape, but low energy efficiency has been pointed out as a problem.
This research result was selected as the cover paper of the world-renowned journal’Nature’.
