Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki and Minister of Strategy and Finance said one of the important supply measures is a policy that encourages multi-homed people to sell their homes for sale.

Even within the party government, a plan to ease the punitive level of capital gains tax on multi-homed people has begun to be discussed, but there are many oppositions because it will not be effective.

The real estate market continues to rise at the beginning of the new year following last year.

The government’s judgment is that the main cause is the shortage of supply above all else.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-gi appeared on a broadcast and identified that normal demand growth, lack of policy, and speculative demand are raising market instability.

Accordingly, plans to expand the supply of housing by developing the station area and increasing reconstruction and redevelopment will be discussed at the real estate market inspection meeting this week.

Along with this, a plan to induce existing homes for multi-homed people to be sold is also suggested as a main stem of the supply policy.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong said, “It is also an important supply policy to let multi-homed people who currently have 3 or 4 homes put out their products for sale.”

It is reported that the ruling Democratic Party and the Democratic Party have also begun to carefully review measures to ease the transfer tax and policies for multi-homed people in the target area.

Starting in June, when multi-homeowners transfer their homes in the area subject to adjustment, the heavy tax rate will increase by 10% points, which will be 20% points for second homes and 30 percent for third homes.

In the future, up to 70-80% of the gains on the transfer will be paid in tax.

Therefore, it is a diagnosis that if a plan to postpone the timing and the middle of the transfer tax is actually presented, there may be an open door in the locked sale market.
