With the second round of the “3 for more financial education” funding program, WirtschaftsWerkstatt (W2) is promoting in particular schoolchildren and schools in the Ahr Valley who are suffering from the consequences of the flood disaster // In total, 14 social organizations, 38 young people and ten teachers are set up across Germany and schools with the scholarship programs of the SCHUFA-Bildungsinitiative

The SCHUFA funding project “3 for more financial education” is going into the second round and specifically supports schools and pupils in the Ahr valley affected by the flood disaster. A six-member jury from the areas of debt counseling, politics, schools and Ole Schröder as a member of the SCHUFA board have now announced the scholarship recipients and the projects funded.

“We want to help where it is particularly necessary,” explains Ole Schröder. “As a result of the flood disaster, every second school in the Ahr district is damaged, but many students have not only lost their study rooms, but also their homes. For us it is therefore a matter of course to allocate part of the funding specifically here to support young people and school projects. ”

At the event – on site in Wiesbaden, Berlin, in Adenau im Ahrtal and digitally – numerous guests took part in the announcement of this year’s funding. In addition to special support in the flood region, “3 for more financial education” also honored the commitment of teachers, social institutions and committed people who fight the negative consequences of the corona pandemic in the school environment. Ole Schröder: “The longer the pandemic lasts, the more visible the negative consequences of the crisis for young people. That is why these helpers deserve our recognition and active support.”

The Bundestag member Dr. Florian Toncar (FDP) emphasized the importance of good financial education for young people and thanked SCHUFA: “We have to significantly strengthen the financial education of young people. In the end, more financial education means more independence and more prosperity. We also have to take this relationship more into account politically. The commitment of SCHUFA in this area is exemplary. ”
