At the Engelbertstrasse / Saarstrasse intersection, a police vehicle collided with the car of a 37-year-old from Recklinghausen on Monday at around 6.30 p.m. The police car, a group vehicle, was driving with flashing lights and a siren because the officers wanted to check a scooter without a license plate. The police vehicle drove on Engelbertstrasse in the direction of Pappelallee, the woman was on her way on Saarstrasse in the direction of the Südfriedhof. At the intersection there was a collision with the police vehicle coming from the right. The woman, her 6-year-old daughter, two police officers (29 and 24 years old) and one police officer (23 years old) were injured and had to be taken to hospitals. The police officers could be released after outpatient treatment, the mother and her child were admitted to the hospital. The two vehicles had to be towed. The property damage is estimated at 35,500 euros. The scooter driver was able to escape. He was dressed in dark clothes and wore a black helmet with a black visor and an “alpha industries” jacket.
