Seizure of around 50 kilograms of amphetamine and arrest of three suspects in southern Hesse
As part of a joint investigation by the public prosecutor’s office (StA) Darmstadt and the joint investigation group Rauschgift (GER) Hessen of the Hessisches Landeskriminalamt (HLKA) and the Zollfahndungsamt Frankfurt am Main due to the violation of the Narcotics Act, last Sunday (May 10, 2020) in South Hesse secured around 50 kilograms of amphetamine and a total of three people, including a man and two young women, were arrested.
According to the investigations that had been going on for months, a group of perpetrators organized the drug smuggling and hired a 27-year-old courier from the Main-Kinzig district to bring the drugs from the Netherlands to Germany in a highly motorized Mercedes.
When the woman parked the vehicle in Darmstadt / Wixhausen, access was made. She and her passenger (23) were arrested. There were two bags in the vehicle with about 50 kilograms of amphetamine, which was secured.
After further intensive search measures, a suspect, a 35-year-old Turkish-born man from the Groß-Gerau district, was finally arrested in the Bensheim area by the HLKA’s Mobile Task Force (MEK).
A meat cleaver was found and secured in the man’s vehicle, a BMW.
The arrests were made using a police helicopter.
In addition to the seizures of the two vehicles used, cash of 2,000 euros was also confiscated.
