The initiative “Freischwimmen21” started at the beginning of June 2021 and is aimed at all civil society organizations in the municipalities: a wide range of extracurricular activities are intended to get children and young people out of the pandemic-induced paralysis moving and meeting again. Because it was and is a time full of drastic restrictions, especially for children and young people. To cushion the consequences, speaks “Freischwimmen21” all civil society organizations to open up again and to engage in active exchange with children and young people.

The initiative is flanked by “Freischwimmen21” fund, which is aimed at small initiatives and individuals who cannot carry out their ideas and actions without financial support. The fund is looked after and administered by the “GLS Treuhand / Zukunftsstiftung Bildung” and already contains a six-figure sum. The application process is straightforward and uncomplicated.

From June 25, 2021 it will be possible to enter actions and apply for support under the following link: www.freischwimmen21.de

With the launch of the website, applications to the fund and entries in the campaign finder will be possible from June 25, 2021.

“Freischwimmen21” is an initiative of “Foundations for Education eV” in cooperation with the “Alliance of Community Foundations in Germany” and the “GLS Treuhand / Zukunftsstiftung Bildung”. It is under the patronage of Anja Karliczek MdB, Federal Minister for Education and Research.

The initiative “Freischwimmen21” is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
