This Tuesday evening at around 6:30 p.m. there was another serious traffic accident on the A1 motorway. On the Bremen lane, shortly before the Stuckenborstel junction, due to the full closure at Posthausen, there was an accident with three trucks involved. The driver of a truck from the Netherlands recognized the end of the traffic jam too late and pulled up onto the man in front of him without braking. Due to the force of the impact, the driver’s cab was torn off the chassis and got stuck in the trailer and this truck was pushed onto the next truck in front of it. The person who caused the accident was trapped in his completely deformed cab, but not trapped. Access to the driver’s cab was created via a work platform and the driver was quickly freed from his position. He was taken to the hospital in Rotenburg / Wümme with serious injuries.
The drivers of the other two trucks were slightly injured in the accident. Their vehicles were so damaged in the accident that they were no longer ready to drive.
After a good one and a half hours, the site was handed over to the police and the last fire brigade forces left the site.
The fire brigades Gyhum, Elsdorf, Zeven and Sottrum were in action with 12 vehicles and 50 emergency services. Executives of the community and district fire brigade got an idea of the situation on site.
