The pilot film for the planned ZDF Saturday crime series “Breisgau” is currently being produced in Freiburg im Breisgau, Munich and the surrounding area. In addition to Katharina Nesytowa as chief detective Tanja Wilken, the ensemble includes Joscha Kiefer, Johanna Gastdorf, Vita Tepel, Daniel Friedl, Julia Jenkins, Valentin Erb, Rüdiger Klink and many others. The director is Thomas Jauch, the script is by Andreas Heckmann and Michael Vershinin.
The Rostock investigator Tanja Wilken (Katharina Nesytowa) is transferred to the Freiburg homicide squad in order to gain distance from her criminal father. 900 kilometers away should be enough to breathe a sigh of relief. But Tanja goes from bad to worse, because her first case brings her into a moral dilemma: the death of a reporter who researched corruption in the police environment.
In the crosshairs of the journalist was Tanja’s new investigative partner, chief detective Dennis Danzeisen (Joscha Kiefer). He comes from a widespread family of police officers in Freiburg: Dennis’ aunt (Johanna Gastdorf) manages the area, one cousin and one cousin are police chief inspectors, and other Danzeisens work in forensic medicine and forensic science. Tanja soon realizes that her colleagues from southern Germany who are related by marriage are not one hundred percent law-abiding – but unfortunately also very personable.
“Breisgau” is a ZDF commissioned production by Hager Moss Film (producer: Kirsten Hager). The responsible editors are Martin R. Neumann and Florian Weber. The shooting is expected to last until November 4, 2020, a broadcast date has not yet been set.
