A 30-year-old German who had claimed to be a “false policeman” in southern Germany was delivered to Germany by Switzerland on Friday morning. The man who was sought with a pre-trial arrest warrant belonged to a gang that has been accused of numerous fraud cases. The men said on the phone that they were police officers and knew that the called party should be the victim of a robbery. So cash and jewelry could be stolen in several cases. Since the wanted person was no longer in Germany, he was searched with a European arrest warrant. The German citizen was arrested by the federal police at the crossing because of the Rhine motorway and brought before a judge. Afterwards, the man was taken to a correctional facility and is now waiting for his trial.
