A 63-year-old is said to have threatened two DB employees in Freiburg’s main train station, triggering an operation by the federal police. The emergency services were insulted by the drunk man. He later urinated in the detention cell.

The 63-year-old German citizen spoke to two DB employees on Friday evening (October 8th, 2021) in the main train station in Freiburg im Breisgau. In the course of the conversation, the drunk man is said to have verbally threatened the two employees to use a knife. The notified federal police could still put the man in the main hall. A service dog handler with a dog was also used. During the operations, the man insulted the federal police several times and opposed the police measures. During the search, four accessible knives were found on the 63-year-old. A breath alcohol test carried out gave a value of 1.96 per thousand. While in the federal police custody rooms, he urinated and defecated in the custody cell. After five hours, the 63-year-old was allowed to leave the federal police station. The knives they were carrying were confiscated and an investigation was initiated against the man.
