Last Wednesday (December 30th) officials from the Paderborn federal police station arrested a 33-year-old man on a regional train. On the train ride from Lippstadt to Paderborn, the 33-year-old Eritrean citizen was checked by the federal police. The federal police found that the Frankfurt / Main public prosecutor was looking for him with two arrest warrants. In October 2014, the Frankfurt / Main District Court sentenced the man to a prison sentence of 2 years and 6 months for attempted commercial smuggling of foreigners in eight cases. However, 305 days of this prison sentence had not yet been served. The Eritrean was also sentenced by the Frankfurt / Main District Court in October 2017 to a fine of 120 daily rates of 15 euros each for coercion and theft. This fine was only partially paid, which is why the Frankfurt / Main public prosecutor sought him to serve a substitute prison sentence of 104 days. The federal police arrested the homeless man and sent him to a correctional facility.
