The federal police are investigating against as yet unknown perpetrators who pelted the ICE 1094 in the Bürstadt train station with stones on Sunday evening. At around 4.30 p.m., the Federal Police Inspection in Frankfurt am Main received a report that the ICE engine driver had initiated an emergency brake after the train was thrown at the Bürstadt station as it passed through.

An inspection of the train at Groß Rohrheim station revealed a total of two damaged windows. The damaged panes had to be masked to ensure that the journey could continue safely. Fortunately, travelers were not injured by the stones thrown. Despite a manhunt and search of the Bürstadt train station, no suspects could be found. The incident resulted in delays on a total of 5 trains. Witnesses are wanted for the ongoing investigation into the dangerous interference in rail traffic.
