Yoon Seong-yeo, who was accused of the eighth case of the’Lee Chun-jae serial murder’, was acquitted after 32 years through a court retrial.
The police, prosecutors, and judges repeatedly apologized to Yoon, who had been imprisoned for 20 years.

The court refuted the evidence that was grounds for Yoon’s guilt at the time of the previous trial.
First of all, the confession statement that he had crossed the victim’s house wall was ruled that he could not be seen as evidence because it did not fit Yoon, who was struggling with polio.
In addition, the analysis of the body hair of Mr. Yun drew a line saying that the evaluation criteria were unreliable because the grounds were not clear.
Immediately after the verdict, the prosecution approached the defendant’s seat and bowed his head, and the police apologized for stigmatizing an innocent person as a murderer through the entrance door.
The judges also admitted that Yun had committed an unfair prison sentence.

Yoon also said that he was grateful for his innocence, but hoped that no one would fall victim to the unreasonable investigation.
