Over 170 vehicles and more than 220 people were checked by officials in the cities of Essen and Mülheim an der Ruhr.
In addition to many minor offenses, including some traffic violations, the officials in Essen Bergeborbeck discovered several suspicious bicycles, some of which were reported as stolen after checking. Even when looking through several parked, scrap-ready vehicles, the officers discovered both bicycles and tools, a Segway and a hoverboard. Here, too, there is a suspicion that these were stolen.
The officers seized a total of 40 bicycles. The frame numbers and individual features are now checked and compared with the police search system.
We ask you to refrain from calling the police.
If a bike can be assigned beyond doubt, the police will approach the owner.
