Petershagen-Lahde – Minden (ots)

On June 27, 2020 at around 3:27 a.m., a freight train drove on the Bremerhaven – Minden route into a bicycle, which was laid on the tracks by previously unknown perpetrators in the area of the Petershagen-Lahde station. Thereupon the driver initiated an emergency stop. Nobody was injured in the collision, but the locomotive was damaged. The exact amount of damage is determined by the specialist service. The train was able to continue its journey to the Minden destination station.

The single-track line was blocked for a long time by the stationary freight train. This led to disruptions in the operation of the railway. The route was reopened for train traffic at around 5:35 a.m.

The Federal Police Inspectorate in Münster, investigating this case, is looking for witnesses who can provide relevant information about the crime.
