A body was found in the lake of California where the former actress of Glee, Naya Rivera, disappeared last week. The police said, according to Sky News. The body was discovered five days after the disappearance of the 33-year-old Rivera on Lake Piru, where her son was found on July 8 by only a few hours on a boat that the two had hired. Authorities do not immediately confirm that the body is Rivera’s, but the day after her disappearance they said they believed she was drowned in the lake northwest of Los Angeles.
The lake, an hour’s drive from Los Angeles. it has been scoured by dozens of divers, with the help of helicopters and drones from above. Rivera played the cheerleader Santana Lopez for six seasons in the musical comedy Fox “Glee”. If she was declared dead, she would be the third member of the main cast to die in her 30s. Cory Monteith, one of the protagonists of the series, died at 31 in 2013 due to a toxic mix of alcohol and heroin. And co-star Mark Salling, whom Rivera dated for a while, killed himself in 2018 at 35 after being accused of child pornography and pleading guilty. Then we need to understand the dynamics of the accident. The video of the surveillance cameras shows Rivera and her son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, who leave on the rented boat. Alarmed that the boat was not returning, the owner had started looking and found the boat with the boy asleep on board adrift at the northern end of the lake.
Rivera’s son told investigators that he and his mother were swimming and he returned to the boat, but she didn’t. The boy was wearing a life jacket and another life jacket was found in the boat along with the woman’s bag and belongings. Rivera is believed to have drowned “in what appears to be a tragic accident.” The boy, born of Rivera’s marriage to actor Ryan Dorsey, was safe and sound. The couple divorced in June 2018 after almost four years of marriage.
