JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo appreciated the performance of the governors who had handled it Covid-19 in his area.
Jokowi said that there were five provinces that he considered good in handling Covid-19 namely DI Yogyakarta, Bangka Belitung, Aceh, West Sumatra, and Gorontalo.
This was conveyed by Jokowi when opening the briefing to the governors in the context of accelerating the absorption of the 2020 APBD at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Wednesday (07/15/2020).
“I appreciate the work of the provinces, ladies and gentlemen of the Governors, and in handling Covid-19, this of all the parameters we have is the best DIY (DI Yogyakarta),” Jokowi said as quoted from the official website of the Cabinet Secretariat.

“Bangka Belitung, also entered, these are the top five that are good. Bangka Belitung, Pak Gub (governor) Aceh also entered, the third. West Sumatra (West Sumatra) also entered, and Gorontalo. He also asked the other governors to continue to suppress the number of daily cases and deaths in their respective provinces while continuing to increase the cure rate.
Nevertheless, Jokowi realized that doing the three things at once was very difficult.

But he said there was no other choice for regional heads to do besides suppressing daily cases and the death rate from Covid-19 while increasing the cure rate.
“If it can be three-thirds, the positive cases go down, meaning the positivity rate, the percentage also decreases. But the recovery rate is increased, the death rate is lowered as low as possible. Not an easy item. Again, this is not an easy item,” continued Jokowi .
