The Frankfurt fire brigade published one Tweet and so informed about the fire.

Accordingly, the accident occurred on the federal highway 43 (near the north roundabout), not far from the football stadium “Deutsche Bank Park” in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen.

The bus is burning “at its fullest”, it says literally in the Twitter message. “There are currently two fire fighting pipes in use. There are currently no injuries,” the text continues.

Photos from the scene of the accident show that the emergency services could no longer save the bus. Only a completely charred wreck remained.

As the police in Frankfurt later added, the 31-year-old bus driver noticed “flying sparks in the area of ​​a wheel arch” while driving in the direction of the city center.

Fortunately, the driver reacted just right: he stopped the bus on the hard shoulder.

The 70 or so passengers were able to leave the bus before the car went up in flames.

According to the current state of the investigation, there were no injuries in the incident. A replacement bus was called to pick up the passengers and transport them on.

The B43 in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen was temporarily completely closed as a result of the fire, the charred remains of the bus were removed.

There is still no information on the cause of the fire. The police are still investigating this. The officials estimate the damage to property at tens of thousands of euros.
